Mangroves constitute an irreplaceable and unique ecosystem, which is home to an incredible biodiversity and is therefore considered one of the five most productive ecological units in the world. These, grow in coastal areas and without a doubt it is a wonder to walk among them. In the village of La Boquilla, only 20 minutes by car from the center of the city of Cartagena, you can find the northern area of the Ciénaga de la Virgen, called Juan Polo. In this marsh, kilometers of mangroves grow around the coast forming tunnels where it is undoubtedly worthwhile to navigate.
Our tour lasts approximately one and a half hours, during which time we will enjoy not only the beauty of the mangroves, but also learn about the different birds that live in this environment. In addition we will have a sample of artisan fishing, where the natives will teach us the techniques that they have used for years to fish the different types of fish and crabs.
